“Adapt yourself to the circumstances in whoici your lot has casted you.”
-Marcus Aurelius, Meditaions 6.39
I face my circumstances head-on without rushing to judgment; at least, I try to. I think through the situation, attempting to analyze it from different perspectives. The circumstances I don’t like, I may be sad or frustrated with them for a short amount of time, but I change focus quickly so I can tackle the challenge before me.
My goal is to not dwell on the issue but look for the opportunities presented by the challenge; it is a challenge, not a problem. These challenges afford me the opportunity to exercise my character and my virtue.
How well do I use it? Some days are better than others.
How can I improve? Step by step, challenge by challenge.
How do you face and work with your present circumstances?
How can you improve?
